Dion was a finalist of the 2021 New Zealand Security Awards and OSPAS (2022 & 2023 Outstanding Security Performance Awards). His level of decades of experience, service delivery and high-level of professionalism is recognised on the world stage.
Dion and his team provide a range of high-level security, security guarding, security consulting, risk management and personal protection services. Dion is one of New Zealand’s widely recognised experts in high-level security, close personal protection and security risk management. Dion received the New Zealand defence forces service medal along with formal recognition of his contribution working in the world’s most volatile regions.
Dion was awarded a number of security related credentials, including a Diploma of Security and Risk Management (Australia). He is a certified instructor and qualified facilitator in executive care, conflict management, situational awareness and close personal protection. Dion was protected a prominent business owner who received threats of violence. This assignment was the catalyst for Dion to extend his skill set and offer personal protection to the New Zealand market.
In 1987, Dion established his career in the New Zealand security industry. He was professionally trained in New Zealand and internationally by former senior police officers, military personnel and intelligence specialists. Following his departure from the emergency services, Dion was a senior manager for Group 4 Security (G4S). Dion founded Protective Services, one of only a few New Zealand security providers offering high-level security and personal protection.
In 2021, Protective Services was acquired by Platform 4 Group (also known as P4G Security). Following the acquisition, Dion was a board member and senior manager responsible for leading security personnel in the lower North Island. Dion’s operational experience is vast, he provides a security consulting and risk management service. He also works with event and venue management company’s along with a number of corporate, commercial and government clients.
