The Neill Group (TNG) is a Wellington based agency providing a range of professional security, private investigation, risk management, para-legal support and field agent services. TNG utilises the skill set and operational experience of a nationwide network of associates sourced from New Zealand’s military, intelligence, private security and law enforcement sectors.
TNG was founded by Ministry of Justice (PSPLA) licence holder, Dion Neill who has over 30 years of experience as a Security Professional, Private Investigator and Surveillance Specialist. Dion is a former member of the Emergency Services and New Zealand Defence Forces.
Dion is a proud recipient of the St John Long Service Medal, New Zealand Defence Service Medal and Long Service Award from the Wellington Free Ambulance. Dion has received training in military weapons, close quarter combat and self defence (Krav Maga).
Dion is a former Certified Fraud Examiner with a Diploma of Security and Risk Management along with a Certificate of Investigation Skills from the private training establishment of the Royal New Zealand Police College. Dion has achieved the highest credentials in security and risk management available in Australasia.
In the late 1980’s, Dion was one of the first licensed Private Investigators to carry out investigation assignments on behalf of the ACC. Dion was also a member of a multi-discipline investigation team responsible for the successful conviction of over 20 offenders in the High Court of New Zealand, this lengthy and complex investigation also resulted in the disestablishment of a sophisticated criminal syndicate.
In 1987, Dion was tasked to protect a Wellington business owner from serious threats of violence, this assignment was the catalyst for Dion to launch his specialised security and risk management agency, Protective Services. Dion has worked within international high-risk environments, he managed the security for a New Zealand representative sports team on tour in South Africa.
Dion also established a security business that was later acquired by Group 4 Security (G4S). Dion accepted a senior management position with G4S, he was responsible for over 200 operational security staff. Dion has protected the rich and famous, including Sting, Bardot, Eminem, Jamie Oliver, Tony Hawk, Sir Elton John, Sir Peter Jackson and Film Talent from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Code 1 Limited provides qualified Event Medics within the greater Wellington region and throughout New Zealand. Code 1 has a number of Paramedics and EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technicians) available to pre-hospital emergency care at any public event or private function. Code 1 has also provided medical teams for Celebrities, Music Artists and Film Talent.
Our highly skilled Medics have decades of front line experience with St John or the Wellington Free Ambulance. All of our contracted EMT’s and Paramedics must provide an authority to practice (ATP) prior to engagement or have gained a recognised qualification to provide first aid coverage. Providing qualified Medics and professional security teams will assist to mitigate and manage any risk to your event or function.

The Neill Group only engages Agents and Associates for private investigation, security and repossession assignments who hold a current licence or certificate of approval issued by the PSPLA.
Dion Neill was a foundation and executive member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Investigators (NZIPI) until his resignation in 2020.
