nationwide tracing, repossessions, asset recovery & FIELD SERVICES

A personal visit by a professional field agent is a proven method of ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.

The Neill Group provides a range of Wellington and nationwide field based services, including audits, field visits (also known as field calls), repossessions, asset recoveries and private investigations. We work in sensitive environments that require diplomacy and care because of potential brand, company or reputation damage. A key to our success is a structured process utilizing professional field agents and licensed private investigators who are “street savvy” and commercially astute with the ability to communicate with people at every level.

We are engaged to assist organisations in the field to interact with people who respond best to a personal field visit, including people with addiction or mental health issues. This group of people often include those with difficulties understanding English, literacy or learning issues. We have worked in sensitive environments that require additional care because of potential brand or reputation damage.

We carry out commercial evictions when the property owner or landlord has the legal right to re-enter a premises as a result of arrears on a commercial rental or lease agreement. Commercial evictions will only be carried out when the legal right to enter has been confirmed, this also applies to company liquidations and insolvency issues.

We are the field agency of choice in the Wellington region for process servers, private investigators, finance companies, lending institutions and debt collection agencies. Our nationwide field team can audit motor vehicle dealership floor plans, verify financial information, trace and locate hidden assets and investigate credit related fraud and suspected identity theft. Our field agents possess the experience to deescalate conflict and negotiate a solution that will work for you.

A field visit is when a field agent goes to the debtor’s location to confirm their address, discuss the implications involved of not paying their debt, and to arrange to have the debt paid by an approved arrangement. A visit from a trained field agent shows the debtor that your company is taking the outstanding debt seriously.

Field visits are conducted by experienced field agents in Wellington and throughout New Zealand. We can also deliver a demand letter or other documents on your behalf at the time of visit. Our field agents will make discreet area inquiries to confirm if your client or debtor has left the address and confirm with the current occupants if a forwarding address is known.

A field visit is also a fast, effective and inexpensive way to determine if legal action is warranted. We have a team of agents who are experienced in the area of conducting field visits for legal firms and financial organisations. Our field agent will attend the provided address to confirm residency and discuss payment arrangements or interview occupants thereat who may be able to provide a forwarding address for the subject and in re-establish contact between you and the debtor.

Tracing services

We use proven tracing techniques based on recognised best practice, including data mining to gather information on the whereabouts of a missing person. Our experience has shown us that some assignments are more challenging than others.

Asset and stock audits

We ensure that assets and motor vehicles sold through motor vehicle dealerships are compliant with the manufacturers’ documentation, including VIN details. We sight the secured assets, collect data (serial and model numbers) and if necessary, take photographic evidence.

Debtor interviews U

In some cases your client or debtor cannot be contacted. The most appropriate action is a personal visit from one of our field agents. Visits by our agents often result in the discovery or confirmation of property and motor vehicle ownership and contact information.

3rd party assignments

The Neill Group acts on behalf of a number of New Zealand insurance companies to assist in the recovery of debts from individuals deemed to be liable for a loss. Our field services are often used to locate people involved in a motor vehicle crash who are not insured.

Mystery shopper

Our mystery shopper programme helps to uncover shortfalls in your cutomer service and identifies potential risk, including unexplained loss and theft. We will visit your retail premises and carry out a transaction to gauge how your staff interact.

Asset recoveries (repossessions)

We work in accordance with the Credit (Repossession) Act 1997. We manage the process from the moment you provide the documentation. We use vetted tow operators, vehicle transporters and if required, qualified trades people.
